Groveport is a city located in Franklin County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in central Ohio, about 12 miles southeast of downtown Columbus and roughly 20 miles west of Lancaster. Groveport is part of the Columbus metropolitan area and is located near Big Walnut Creek and the Scioto River watershed. The city is positioned at approximately 39.878° North latitude and 82.884° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,344 residents. Groveport covers about 7.36 square miles, or 19.06 square kilometers, including land and water. The community was settled in the early 19th century and incorporated as a village in 1846 before becoming a city in 1971.
