Harrison is a city located in Hamilton County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in southwestern Ohio near the Indiana state line, about 20 miles northwest of downtown Cincinnati and roughly 25 miles southeast of Brookville, Indiana. Harrison is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area and sits near the Great Miami River and Whitewater River. The city is located at approximately 39.262° North latitude and 84.790° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 12,286 residents. Harrison covers about 4.98 square miles, or 12.90 square kilometers, including land and water. The community was founded in the early 19th century and incorporated as a village in 1850 before becoming a city in 1981. Its location along regional roads and rail lines helped it develop as a local center for trade and transportation. Nearby Miami Whitewater Forest is one of the area's largest outdoor attractions, offering hiking, fishing, boating, camping, and nature programs. The Great Miami River also shapes the landscape west of the city.
