Harrisville is a city located in Weber County, Utah, the United States. It lies immediately north of Ogden in northern Utah, about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City and roughly 5 miles south of North Ogden. Harrisville is part of the Ogden-Clearfield metropolitan area and sits between the Wasatch Mountains to the east and the Great Salt Lake basin to the west. The city is located at approximately 41.284° North latitude and 111.988° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,646 residents. Harrisville covers about 2.25 square miles, or 5.83 square kilometers, and is primarily land. The community was settled in the mid-19th century by Mormon pioneers and was named for early settler Martin Henderson Harris. Harrisville remained largely agricultural for much of its history before residential development expanded in the late 20th century. Today, it is a suburban community with convenient access to Ogden and major employment centers in northern Utah. The city is close to the Ogden River, Pineview Reservoir, and several foothill recreation areas. Interstate 15 and nearby U.S. Route 89 provide major transportation connections to Ogden, Brigham City, Salt Lake City, and communities along the Wasatch Front.
