Where is Hooper Located?

Hooper is a city located in Weber County, Utah, the United States. It lies in northern Utah, about 10 miles west of Ogden and roughly 40 miles north of Salt Lake City. Hooper is part of the Ogden-Clearfield metropolitan area and sits on the western side of the Wasatch Front, near the Great Salt Lake. The city is located at approximately 41.179° North latitude and 112.115° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 9,087 residents. Hooper has about 87.99 square miles of total area, or 227.90 square kilometers, although much of this area is water associated with the Great Salt Lake. The city is known for its agricultural land and rural setting. Hooper City Park and the annual Hooper Tomato Days festival are important local attractions. A unique feature of Hooper is its large municipal area, which extends west toward the Great Salt Lake. The community was settled in the 1850s and was named after William Henry Hooper, an early Utah political leader. Interstate 15 and Utah State Route 37 provide convenient connections to Ogden, Roy, West Haven, and other communities along the Wasatch Front.
