Louisville is a city located in Stark County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in northeastern Ohio, about 8 miles east of Canton and roughly 25 miles southeast of Akron. Cleveland is about 55 miles northwest of the city. Louisville is located at approximately 40.837° North latitude and 81.259° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 9,485 residents, and the city covers about 5.15 square miles (13.34 sq km). Louisville was founded in 1834 and incorporated as a village in 1851 before becoming a city in 1962. The community developed as a small agricultural center and later grew with the expansion of nearby Canton and the wider northeastern Ohio industrial region.
