Macedonia is a city located in Summit County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in northeastern Ohio between Cleveland and Akron, about 20 miles south of downtown Cleveland and roughly 15 miles north of Akron. Macedonia is located at approximately 41.314° North latitude and 81.508° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 12,576 residents, and the city covers about 9.08 square miles (23.52 sq km). Macedonia developed from a rural farming community and was incorporated as a village in 1950 before becoming a city in 2002. Its location near the Cuyahoga Valley has shaped the area's landscape, with wooded hills, streams, and open spaces surrounding the city. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of the most important natural attractions nearby, offering hiking trails, waterfalls, scenic overlooks, historic sites, and access to the Cuyahoga River.
