Miamisburg is a city located in Montgomery County, Ohio, the United States. It lies along the Great Miami River in southwestern Ohio, about 10 miles south of Dayton and roughly 65 miles northeast of Cincinnati. Miamisburg is located at approximately 39.642° North latitude and 84.290° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 20,660 residents, and the city covers about 12.67 square miles (32.81 sq km). Miamisburg was founded in 1797 and incorporated as a city in 1920. The community developed along the Great Miami River, which supported transportation, milling, manufacturing, and trade during the city's early history. The river remains an important natural and recreational feature of the community. Miamisburg has a historic downtown with older commercial buildings, local shops, restaurants, and civic landmarks. The city is also home to Miamisburg Mound, one of the largest prehistoric burial mounds in Ohio.
