It lies in eastern Ohio along the Tuscarawas River, about 80 miles south of Cleveland and roughly 30 miles south of Canton. Dover is about 5 miles northwest, while Uhrichsville is around 10 miles southeast. New Philadelphia is positioned near 40.489° North latitude and 81.445° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 17,677 residents. The city covers about 8.68 square miles, or 22.48 square kilometers, including land and water. Tuscora Park is one of the city's best-known attractions, with rides, pools, miniature golf, and recreational facilities.
