North Canton is a city located in Stark County, Ohio, the United States. It lies in northeast Ohio, about 6 miles north of downtown Canton and around 20 miles south of Akron. Massillon is roughly 10 miles southwest, while Green is about 12 miles north. North Canton is positioned near 40.876° North latitude and 81.402° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 17,842 residents. The city covers about 6.40 square miles, or 16.58 square kilometers, with very little surface water. Price Park is a popular local recreation area, while the Pro Football Hall of Fame is only a short drive south in Canton. North Canton was originally known as New Berlin before its name changed during World War I. The city also became closely associated with the Hoover Company, whose vacuum cleaner manufacturing operations played a major role in local growth and employment.
