Where is Park City Located?
Park City is a city located in Summit County, Utah, the United States. It lies in the Wasatch Mountains of northern Utah, about 30 miles east of Salt Lake City and roughly 20 miles north of Heber City. Kamas is around 15 miles east, while Coalville is about 25 miles northeast. Park City is positioned near 40.646° North latitude and 111.498° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,396 residents. The city covers about 17.47 square miles, or 45.25 square kilometers. Park City grew from a historic silver-mining settlement into one of Utah's best-known mountain communities. Its historic Main Street is lined with preserved buildings that reflect the city's mining past. Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort provide extensive winter skiing and snowboarding, while the surrounding mountains offer hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities in warmer months. Park City was incorporated in 1884. A unique fact about the city is its major role in the 2002 Winter Olympics, when venues in and around Park City hosted alpine skiing, snowboarding, and other events. The city also hosts the Sundance Film Festival and is located within easy reach of Salt Lake City International Airport.
