Where is Perrysburg Located?
Perrysburg is a city located in Wood County, Ohio, the United States. It lies along the Maumee River in northwestern Ohio, about 10 miles southwest of downtown Toledo and roughly 45 miles north of Findlay. Maumee is around 5 miles north, while Bowling Green is about 20 miles south. Perrysburg is positioned near 41.557° North latitude and 83.627° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 23,808 residents. The city covers about 11.50 square miles, or 29.79 square kilometers. Perrysburg was founded in 1816 and named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, the naval commander who led American forces during the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812. The Maumee River has played an important role in the city's transportation and commercial history. Fort Meigs, a major War of 1812 battlefield and historic site, is located just south of the city. Downtown Perrysburg features historic buildings, local businesses, restaurants, and public spaces.
