Pleasant View is a city located in Weber County, Utah, the United States. It lies on the western foothills of the Wasatch Mountains in northern Utah, about 10 miles north of Ogden and roughly 50 miles north of Salt Lake City. North Ogden is around 3 miles east, while Farr West is about 6 miles west. Pleasant View is positioned near 41.318° North latitude and 112.002° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 11,327 residents. The city covers about 7.70 square miles, or 19.94 square kilometers. Pleasant View developed from agricultural settlements established by Mormon pioneers during the 19th century. Orchards, farms, and open fields once dominated much of the area, while residential development has expanded as the Wasatch Front has grown. The city sits against the foothills of the Wasatch Range, giving many neighborhoods views toward the mountains and the Great Salt Lake basin. A unique feature of Pleasant View is its location between the mountains and the broad Great Salt Lake plain, providing easy access to both urban services and outdoor recreation. Nearby destinations include Ogden Canyon, Pineview Reservoir, Willard Bay, and the Ogden Nature Center. The city was incorporated in 1946. Interstate 15 and US-89 provide convenient transportation links to Ogden, Brigham City, Layton, Salt Lake City, and other northern Utah communities.
