Where is Price Located?
Price is a city located in Carbon County, Utah, the United States. It sits in eastern Utah along the Price River, about 120 miles southeast of Salt Lake City and roughly 60 miles southwest of Moab. Helper is about 7 miles north, while Wellington is around 10 miles south. Price is positioned near 39.599° North latitude and 110.810° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,216 residents, and the city covers about 5.04 square miles, or 13.05 square kilometers, of land. Price developed in the late 19th century as the railroad and coal-mining industries expanded through Carbon County. Its population became unusually diverse for Utah as Greek, Italian, Eastern European, Mexican, Japanese, and other immigrant communities arrived to work in the mines and on the railroads. The USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum is one of the city's best-known attractions, with exhibits on dinosaurs, paleontology, archaeology, and geology. A unique feature of Price is its strong connection to both coal-mining history and the many immigrant communities that shaped the Carbon Corridor.
