Where is Richfield Located?
Richfield is a city located in Sevier County, Utah, the United States. It sits in the Sevier Valley of central Utah, about 100 miles south of Provo and roughly 120 miles south of Salt Lake City. Salina is around 25 miles north, while Marysvale is about 35 miles south. Richfield is positioned near 38.772° North latitude and 112.084° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,201 residents. The city covers about 5.07 square miles, or 13.13 square kilometers. Richfield was settled in 1864 by Mormon pioneers and incorporated in 1889. Its location along the Sevier River helped support agriculture and the development of a regional trading center. Today, the city serves as an important service and transportation hub for central Utah communities. The surrounding Sevier Valley is bordered by mountains, with the Fishlake National Forest and several high-elevation recreation areas nearby. Fish Lake, Utah's largest natural mountain lake, is about 30 miles southeast and is popular for fishing, boating, hiking, and camping. A unique feature of Richfield is its role as a regional center between larger Utah cities and the rural communities of the central and southern part of the state. Interstate 70 passes just south of the city and connects Richfield with Salina, Green River, and St. George. US-89 also provides an important north-south route through the valley.
