Riverdale is a city located in Weber County, Utah, the United States. It lies along the Wasatch Front just south of Ogden, about 4 miles south of downtown Ogden and roughly 35 miles north of Salt Lake City. Roy is around 5 miles west, while South Ogden is about 3 miles east. Riverdale is positioned near 41.176° North latitude and 111.994° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,509 residents. The city covers about 4.07 square miles, or 10.54 square kilometers. Riverdale was settled in the 1850s and incorporated in 1946. Its location near the Weber River and major transportation routes helped the community develop from an agricultural settlement into a suburban city connected to Ogden and the wider Wasatch Front. Today, Riverdale has a mix of residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, parks, and river landscapes.
