Where is Riverside Located?

Riverside is a city located in Montgomery County, Ohio, the United States. It lies immediately east of Dayton along the Mad River, about 5 miles from downtown Dayton and roughly 6 miles southwest of Fairborn. Kettering is around 8 miles southwest, while Beavercreek is about 5 miles east. Riverside is positioned near 39.779° North latitude and 84.124° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 25,201 residents. The city covers about 10.27 square miles, or 26.60 square kilometers. Riverside was incorporated in 1995 through the merger of several communities, including East Dayton and part of Riverside Township. Its modern identity is closely connected to the growth of Dayton and nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The Mad River forms an important natural feature along the western and northern portions of the community, while parks and recreation areas provide access to trails, fishing, sports fields, and open space. A unique feature of Riverside is its location directly beside Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, one of the largest military and aerospace research centers in the United States. The National Museum of the United States Air Force is located nearby and is one of the area's most important attractions. Other nearby destinations include Huffman Prairie Flying Field, Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, and Carillon Historical Park.
