Roosevelt is a city located in Duchesne County, Utah, the United States. It lies in the Uintah Basin of northeastern Utah, about 80 miles east of Provo and roughly 115 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Vernal is around 30 miles east, while Duchesne is about 15 miles southwest. Roosevelt is positioned near 40.299° North latitude and 109.988° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,070 residents. The city covers about 5.94 square miles, or 15.38 square kilometers. Roosevelt was founded in 1905 and incorporated in 1915. The community developed as settlers established farms, ranches, businesses, and transportation routes across the Uintah Basin.
