Russellville is a city located in Franklin County, Alabama, the United States. It lies in northwest Alabama, about 30 miles southeast of Florence and roughly 75 miles northwest of Birmingham. Red Bay is around 20 miles northwest, while Tuscumbia is about 35 miles northeast. Russellville is positioned near 34.507° North latitude and 87.729° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 9,532 residents. The city covers about 13.16 square miles, or 34.08 square kilometers. Russellville was incorporated in 1819 and serves as the county seat of Franklin County.
