Tukwila is a city located in King County, Washington, the United States. It lies in the southern part of the Seattle metropolitan area, about 10 miles south of downtown Seattle and roughly 20 miles north of Tacoma. Renton is about 7 miles east, while Burien is approximately 7 miles west of Tukwila. The city is located at approximately 47.4740° North latitude and 122.2600° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 21,798 residents. Tukwila covers about 9.18 square miles, or approximately 23.78 square kilometers. The landscape includes the Green River valley, wooded hills, commercial districts, industrial areas, and established residential neighborhoods. Tukwila developed as an agricultural and transportation community before becoming an important suburban and commercial center in the Seattle region.
