Where is Valley Located?

Valley is a city located in Chambers County, Alabama, the United States. It is in east-central Alabama near the Georgia state line and is part of the LaGrange metropolitan area. Valley is about 30 miles northeast of Auburn and approximately 25 miles west of LaGrange, Georgia. The city lies at about 32.819° North latitude and 85.178° West longitude. Valley had 10,611 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 17.85 square miles, or 46.23 square kilometers. The city was formed in 1980 through the consolidation of several former textile mill communities, including Fairfax, Langdale, Riverview, Shawmut, and West Point Manufacturing areas. Textile production played a major role in the area's development. Today, West Point Lake and the nearby Chattahoochee River provide opportunities for fishing, boating, camping, and other outdoor activities. Valley's location along Interstate 85 also provides direct connections to Montgomery, Atlanta, and other cities across the Southeast.
