West Point is a city located in Davis County, Utah, the United States. It is in northern Utah, about 25 miles north of Salt Lake City, 10 miles west of Layton, and approximately 8 miles south of Ogden. West Point lies at approximately 41.118° North latitude and 112.084° West longitude. The city had 11,511 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 7.52 square miles, or 19.48 square kilometers. West Point developed from agricultural settlements in western Davis County and incorporated as a city in 1936. Farming remained important to the community for many decades, although residential development has expanded as the northern Wasatch Front has grown. The city is located between the Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch Mountains, creating a broad landscape with views toward both the lake and mountain ranges. Nearby attractions include the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve, Antelope Island State Park, Hill Aerospace Museum, and the Great Salt Lake.
