Willowick is a city located in Lake County, Ohio, the United States. It is in northeastern Ohio on the southern shore of Lake Erie, about 15 miles northeast of downtown Cleveland, 5 miles northwest of Willoughby, and approximately 10 miles southwest of Mentor. Willowick lies at approximately 41.633° North latitude and 81.468° West longitude. The city had 9,921 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 2.68 square miles, or 6.94 square kilometers. Willowick developed as a residential community during the growth of the Cleveland metropolitan area and incorporated as a city in 1950. Its location along Lake Erie gives the community a strong connection to the region's waterfront landscape. The nearby Chagrin River and Lake Metroparks provide opportunities for walking, fishing, birdwatching, and nature activities. The city is also close to several Lake Erie beaches and marinas.
