Where is Worthington Located?

Worthington is a city located in Franklin County, Ohio, the United States. It is in central Ohio, about 10 miles north of downtown Columbus, 10 miles west of Westerville, and approximately 15 miles south of Delaware. Worthington lies at approximately 40.093° North latitude and 83.018° West longitude. The city had 14,786 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 5.36 square miles, or 13.88 square kilometers. Worthington was founded in 1803 by members of the Scioto Company and was named after Thomas Worthington, an early Ohio governor and U.S. senator. The community was designed around a central village green and developed as an agricultural settlement before becoming part of the growing Columbus metropolitan area. Today, Worthington is known for its historic downtown, preserved homes, mature trees, local shops, restaurants, parks, and community institutions. The Worthington Historic District contains many buildings reflecting the city's early 19th-century origins. Nearby attractions include the Olentangy River, Highbanks Metro Park, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and the Ohio State University campus.
