Xenia is a city located in Greene County, Ohio, the United States. It is in southwestern Ohio, about 15 miles east of Dayton, 10 miles south of Fairborn, and approximately 45 miles northeast of Cincinnati. Xenia lies at approximately 39.685° North latitude and 83.929° West longitude. The city had 25,441 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 13.32 square miles, or 34.50 square kilometers. Xenia was founded in 1803 and incorporated in 1817. It became the county seat of Greene County and developed as an important regional center for agriculture, government, manufacturing, and transportation. Railroads played a major role in Xenia's history, and the city was once served by several railway lines. Today, Xenia is especially recognized for its extensive network of paved recreational trails, which connect the city with Dayton, Yellow Springs, Jamestown, Cedarville, and other communities in the Miami Valley.
