Aberdeen is a city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States and is part of the Aberdeen micropolitan area in Grays Harbor County. It is about 110 miles southwest of Seattle and is best known as the hometown of musician Kurt Cobain and for its long history in the timber industry. The city also serves as a gateway to the Washington coast.

Aberdeen is a city located in Grays Harbor County, Washington, the United States. The city sits along the Chehalis River near Grays Harbor in southwestern Washington. It is approximately 45 miles (72 km) west of Olympia, 110 miles (177 km) southwest of Seattle, and about 130 miles (209 km) northwest of Portland, Oregon. Aberdeen is located at 46.9754° North latitude and 123.8157° West longitude. According to the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 17,013. It covers about 12.35 square miles (31.98 sq km). Aberdeen is widely recognized as the birthplace of Kurt Cobain and remains an important commercial center for Grays Harbor and nearby coastal communities.
