Bonney Lake is a city located in Pierce County, Washington, the United States. It lies in the Puget Sound region east of Tacoma and southeast of Seattle. Bonney Lake is approximately 17 miles east of Tacoma, 11 miles northeast of Puyallup, and about 35 miles southeast of Seattle. The city is near Lake Tapps and the foothills of the Cascade Range at approximately 47.1791° North latitude and 122.1700° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 22,487 residents. Bonney Lake covers about 8.29 square miles, or 21.46 square kilometers, including approximately 8.22 square miles of land and 0.07 square miles of water. Lake Tapps is a major nearby recreation area, while Mount Rainier is a prominent natural landmark visible from the region.
