College Place is a city located in Walla Walla County, Washington, the United States. It is directly west of Walla Walla and about 55 miles southeast of Pasco. College Place is located at approximately 46.0491° North latitude and 118.3883° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 9,512 residents, and the city covers about 1.88 square miles (4.87 sq km). The city grew around Whitman College, which was founded in nearby Walla Walla in the 19th century. Agriculture and wine production are important parts of the surrounding Walla Walla Valley. College Place was incorporated in 1946 and has developed into a residential community closely connected with Walla Walla. U.S. Route 12 and other regional roads provide access to southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon.
