Where is Dillon Located?

Dillon is a city located in Dillon County, South Carolina, the United States. It is in the northeastern part of South Carolina, close to the North Carolina border and along Interstate 95. Dillon is about 40 miles northeast of Florence and approximately 30 miles south of Lumberton, North Carolina. The city lies at about 34.42° North latitude and 79.37° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,384 residents. Dillon covers about 5.37 square miles (13.91 square kilometers), including approximately 5.34 square miles of land and 0.03 square miles of water. The city grew around the railroad in the late 19th century and was incorporated on December 22, 1888. Its historic downtown includes the Dillon County Theatre and other preserved buildings. South of the Border, a well-known roadside attraction near the South Carolina-North Carolina line, is also close to Dillon.
