It lies along the western bank of the Detroit River in southeastern Michigan, directly south of Detroit and near the Canadian border. Downtown Detroit is about 9 miles north, while Dearborn is roughly 7 miles northwest and Wyandotte is about 3 miles south. Ecorse is located at approximately 42.24° North latitude and 83.15° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 9,753 residents. The city covers about 3.46 square miles, or 8.96 square kilometers.
