Where is Fraser Located?

Fraser is a city located in Macomb County, Michigan, the United States. It lies in southeastern Michigan, about 18 miles northeast of downtown Detroit, 6 miles north of Warren, and roughly 8 miles southwest of Sterling Heights. Fraser is positioned at approximately 42.539° North latitude and 82.950° West longitude. The city covers about 2.78 square miles, or 7.20 square kilometers, of land. The 2020 Census recorded 14,726 residents, while recent estimates place the population at about 14,500. Fraser stands at an elevation of roughly 630 feet above sea level. The community developed as a suburban area during the 20th century as the Detroit region expanded into Macomb County. Fraser was incorporated as a city in 1959. Its location provides quick access to major employment, shopping, recreation, and cultural attractions throughout the Detroit metropolitan area. Interstate 696 runs just south of the city and connects Fraser with Detroit, the northern suburbs, and the western metropolitan area.
