Where is Glencoe Located?
Glencoe is a city located in Etowah County and Calhoun County, Alabama, the United States. It lies in northeastern Alabama along the Coosa River, about 8 miles southeast of Gadsden and approximately 65 miles northeast of Birmingham. Glencoe is part of the Gadsden metropolitan area and is close to Interstate 59, U.S. Route 411, and Alabama State Route 431. The city is located at approximately 33.945° North latitude and 85.932° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,372 residents. Glencoe covers about 17.0 square miles, or 44.0 square kilometers, with nearly all of the area consisting of land. The Coosa River and nearby Cove Creek are important geographic features. Glencoe is also close to Silver Lakes, part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, and Talladega National Forest. The city was incorporated in 1939 and is recognized by Alabama as a City of Patriotism.
