Grosse Pointe Park is a city located in Wayne County, Michigan, the United States. It lies along the western shore of Lake St. Clair, directly northeast of Detroit and about 7 miles from downtown Detroit. The city is part of the Detroit metropolitan area and one of the communities known collectively as the Grosse Pointes. Grosse Pointe Park is located at approximately 42.375° North latitude and 82.938° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 11,595 residents. The city covers about 3.71 square miles, or 9.61 square kilometers, including land and water. It was incorporated as a city in 1930 after developing from the larger Grosse Pointe Township area. Its waterfront location has shaped the city's residential character and recreation opportunities. Windmill Pointe Park and Patterson Park provide green space, recreational facilities, and views of Lake St. Clair. The city is also close to Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Farms, and Grosse Pointe Woods. Detroit's museums, riverfront, sports venues, and cultural attractions are only a short drive away.
