Where is Lapeer Located?
Lapeer is a city located in Lapeer County, Michigan, the United States. It lies in southeastern Michigan along the Flint River, about 20 miles east of Flint and roughly 40 miles north of Detroit. The city is located at approximately 43.052° North latitude and 83.319° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,628 residents, and Lapeer covers about 7.41 square miles (19.20 sq km). The community was established in the 19th century and became the county seat of Lapeer County. Its location along the Flint River helped support early settlement, milling, farming, and later industrial development. One of the city's best-known landmarks is the Lapeer County Courthouse, a historic civic building in the downtown area. Lapeer also has several parks and recreational areas, including Rowden Park and Cramton Park. The surrounding countryside features farmland, woodlands, inland lakes, and small communities.
