Where is Liberty Lake Located?

Liberty Lake is a city located in Spokane County, Washington, the United States. It lies in eastern Washington near the Idaho state line, about 20 miles east of Spokane and roughly 8 miles west of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The city is located at approximately 47.657° North latitude and 117.106° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 11,567 residents, and Liberty Lake covers about 7.03 square miles (18.21 sq km). The community takes its name from Liberty Lake, a natural lake south of the city center. The area remained largely rural for much of its early history before suburban development expanded in the late 20th century. Liberty Lake was incorporated as a city in 2001 and has since grown into a residential and business community within the Spokane metropolitan area. Liberty Lake itself is one of the area's best-known outdoor attractions, offering opportunities for swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Nearby Liberty Lake Regional Park features trails, forests, wetlands, and access to the lake.
