Menominee is located at approximately 45.107° North latitude and 87.614° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,114 residents, and the city covers about 5.48 square miles (14.19 sq km). Menominee was incorporated as a city in 1883 and became the county seat of Menominee County. The community grew rapidly during the 19th century because of the area's extensive forests and access to waterways.
