Milton is a city located in Pierce County, Washington, the United States. It lies in the southern Puget Sound area near the Pierce County and King County boundary. Milton is about 12 miles northeast of Tacoma, 6 miles southeast of Federal Way, and about 26 miles south of Seattle. The city is positioned near 47.250° North latitude and 122.315° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 9,479 residents. Milton covers about 2.72 square miles, or 7.04 square kilometers, of land. The city is situated on elevated ground overlooking parts of the Puget Sound lowlands. Nearby attractions include Dash Point State Park and the waterfront communities around Commencement Bay.
