It lies along the western shore of Lake St. Clair in southeast Michigan, about 35 miles northeast of Detroit and roughly 20 miles south of Port Huron. Chesterfield Township is to the west, while Algonac is about 15 miles northeast across the lake region. New Baltimore is positioned near 42.681° North latitude and 82.736° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 12,117 residents. The city covers about 6.73 square miles, or 17.43 square kilometers, including land and water.
