Oneonta is a city located in Blount County, Alabama, the United States. It lies in northern Alabama, about 35 miles northeast of Birmingham and roughly 30 miles southwest of Gadsden. Blountsville is about 15 miles north, while Springville is around 20 miles southwest. Oneonta is positioned near 33.948° North latitude and 86.473° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,567 residents. The city covers about 15.19 square miles, or 39.34 square kilometers.
