Ozark is a city located in Dale County, Alabama, the United States. It lies in the Wiregrass region of southeastern Alabama, about 20 miles south of Dothan and roughly 90 miles southeast of Montgomery. Enterprise is around 20 miles southwest, while Troy is about 35 miles north. Ozark is positioned near 31.459° North latitude and 85.641° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 14,368 residents. The city covers about 34.52 square miles, or 89.41 square kilometers. Ozark developed as an agricultural and transportation center and later became closely connected with the military community at nearby Fort Rucker, now known as Fort Novosel. Lake Tholocco is one of the area's best-known recreation spots, offering fishing, boating, swimming, and outdoor activities. Ozark was incorporated in 1855 and became the county seat of Dale County.
