Satsuma is a city located in Mobile County, Alabama, the United States. It lies in southwestern Alabama, north of Mobile and near the western shore of the Mobile River. Satsuma is about 12 miles from Mobile, 18 miles from Saraland, and roughly 35 miles from Pascagoula, Mississippi. The city is located at 30.8513° North latitude and 88.0564° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,019 residents. Satsuma covers about 7.7 square miles (19.9 square kilometers), almost all of which is land. The city is close to the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, one of Alabama’s major wetland regions. Satsuma is also known for its connection to citrus growing, especially the satsuma orange. Its location along major roads provides convenient access to Mobile, the Gulf Coast, and communities across Mobile County.
