Travelers Rest is a city located in Greenville County, South Carolina, the United States. It lies in the Upstate region of northwestern South Carolina, about 10 miles northwest of Greenville and roughly 30 miles southeast of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Greer is about 10 miles east, while Easley is approximately 15 miles southwest of Travelers Rest. The city is located at 34.9671° North latitude and 82.4435° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,788 residents. Travelers Rest covers about 6.10 square miles, or approximately 15.80 square kilometers. The surrounding landscape includes wooded hills, creeks, farmland, and mountain foothills that rise toward the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city developed along an important historic travel route between Greenville and the mountains, giving Travelers Rest its distinctive name. The Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail passes through the community and connects Travelers Rest with Greenville and other Upstate communities.
