Brigantine is a city located in Atlantic County, New Jersey, the United States. It is about 5 miles north of Atlantic City and 60 miles south of Philadelphia. Brigantine is located at approximately 39.4101° North latitude and 74.3646° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,716 residents, and the city covers about 10.37 square miles (26.86 sq km). Brigantine Beach is its best-known attraction, while the nearby Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge protects important coastal habitat. Brigantine occupies a barrier island and is connected to Atlantic City by a bridge. The community was incorporated as a city in 1924 and has a long history as a Jersey Shore resort.
