Milan is a city located in Washtenaw County and Monroe County, Michigan, the United States. It lies in southeast Michigan, about 16 miles south of Ann Arbor and about 21 miles northwest of Monroe. Milan is positioned near 42.077° North latitude and 83.687° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,079 residents. The city covers about 3.56 square miles, or 9.22 square kilometers. Its location near the Saline River adds to the city's geographic character. Historic downtown Milan includes the Main Street Historic District, which contains several historic buildings.
