It lies along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, about 5 miles south of Muskegon and roughly 40 miles northwest of Grand Rapids. Roosevelt Park is about 3 miles north, while Fruitport is around 5 miles east. Norton Shores is positioned near 43.168° North latitude and 86.263° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 25,794 residents. The city covers about 24.73 square miles, or 64.05 square kilometers, including land and water.
