Where is Walled Lake Located?
Walled Lake is a city located in Oakland County, Michigan, the United States. It is in southeastern Michigan, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Detroit, 10 miles west of Pontiac, and close to Novi and Commerce Township. Walled Lake lies at approximately 42.537° North latitude and 83.482° West longitude. The city had 7,005 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 2.37 square miles, or 6.14 square kilometers. The community takes its name from Walled Lake, a natural inland lake along the city's western side. The lake has long been central to the area's recreation and development. Walled Lake was settled in the 19th century and grew as a summer resort and residential community. Today, the city has a compact downtown, established neighborhoods, and access to lakefront parks. Lakeshore Park provides opportunities for swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, and other outdoor activities.
