Wildwood is a city located in Cape May County, New Jersey, the United States. It is on the southern Jersey Shore, about 10 miles north of Cape May, 5 miles south of Stone Harbor, and approximately 40 miles south of Atlantic City. Wildwood lies at approximately 38.991° North latitude and 74.819° West longitude. The city had 4,093 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 1.33 square miles, or 3.44 square kilometers. Wildwood was incorporated as a city in 1895 and grew rapidly as a seaside resort during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Tourism shaped the city's identity, with its beaches, boardwalk, amusement parks, and distinctive mid-20th-century motels becoming major features. The Wildwood Boardwalk stretches along the oceanfront and includes amusement piers, rides, arcades, restaurants, and shops.
