Woodbury is a city located in Gloucester County, New Jersey, the United States. It is in southwestern New Jersey, about 10 miles south of Philadelphia, 5 miles east of the Delaware River, and approximately 15 miles northwest of Glassboro. Woodbury lies at approximately 39.838° North latitude and 75.153° West longitude. The city had 9,963 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 2.23 square miles, or 5.78 square kilometers. Woodbury was settled in the late 17th century and incorporated as a city in 1854. It became the county seat of Gloucester County and developed as an important center for government, commerce, and transportation in South Jersey. The city has a historic downtown with older civic and commercial buildings, including the Gloucester County Courthouse.
