The city lies along the Ohio River in western Pennsylvania, approximately 20 miles (32 km) northwest of downtown Pittsburgh, 10 miles (16 km) south of Beaver, and about 35 miles (56 km) east of the Ohio state line. Aliquippa is located at 40.6153° North latitude and 80.2581° West longitude. According to the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 9,238. Aliquippa covers approximately 4.73 square miles (12.25 sq km). The city is widely recognized for its steel industry heritage and has produced many notable athletes, including several members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
