Donna is a city located in Hidalgo County in the U.S. state of Texas, United States. The city was established in 1909 and was named after Donna Hooks Fletcher, the daughter of a local land developer involved in promoting the area. Donna developed as an agricultural and transportation center in the Rio Grande Valley and continues to serve as an important community in South Texas.
