Warren is a borough located in Warren County, Pennsylvania, the United States. It is in northwestern Pennsylvania along the Allegheny River, about 50 miles southeast of Erie and approximately 65 miles southwest of Buffalo, New York. Warren lies at about 41.843° North latitude and 79.145° West longitude. The borough had 8,862 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 3.02 square miles, or 7.82 square kilometers. Warren was settled in the late 18th century and became the seat of Warren County in 1813. The community grew through lumber, oil, manufacturing, and river transportation. Its location near the Allegheny River and surrounding forests helped shape its economy and landscape. Kinzua Dam and Allegheny Reservoir are major outdoor destinations nearby, offering boating, fishing, hiking, camping, and scenic views. Warren's historic downtown also contains many well-preserved buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. U.S. Route 6 provides an important east-west connection through the borough and links Warren with Erie and communities farther east.
